INDIA MARK – II DEEP WELL HAND PUMP

India Mark II Deep Well Hand pump, designed by Unicef & BIS. Being manufactured as per Indian Standard : IS:15500/2004 suitable for depth upto 45 metres, is supposed to be the best pump ever designed in the world for drawing underground potable water for communties. It is a specially designed pump and the most popular pump in the world, even a child can operate easily.

General overview of components

Above ground structure The above-ground mechanism which includes head, handle, water tank and pedestal (stand), is fabricated from welded mild steel plates and sections for strength, and hot-dip galvanized for corrosion resistance.
Options of pedestal - Normal 3 legged pedestal / Telescopic 3 legged pedestal / Flanged pedestal
Cylinder assembly The normal 63.5 mm dia cylinder is made from a cast iron casing with a polished brass liner and gun metal plunger and check valve components. Seals (pump buckets, valve seals and cap seals) are available in environmentally safe nitrile rubber.
Option – Cast Iron & 'Stainless Steel' material
Connecting Rods The normal mild steel (electroplated and passivated) connecting rod with coupling is in 3 metre length, 12 mm dia (+10/-0mm).

Riser Pipes The Galvanized Iron (GI) Riser Pipe is in 32 mm NB (medium), 3 meter length, with socket one side.
